The Ultimatte AdvantEdge® software plugins are the very best tools available for color compositing. They are especially powerful when it comes to removal of color flare contamination which always exists to some extent on foreground objects (they hold several patents in that area).

Keep in mind that color compositing is not a small module in a large effects package in Ultimatte AdvantEdge® software. It is the ENTIRE package. The people at Ultimatte concentrate on compositing, and they are better at it than anyone.

If you can tell by looking at the final composite image what color backing was used in the original shoot, the composite wasn't done using Ultimatte AdvantEdge® software.

The full Ultimatte AdvantEdge® plugin software package features a USB hardware dongle and a dual MAC/PC CDROM with all the PC and MAC plugins, and with documentation in the form of a PDF file.

PC plugins include support for Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere, Apple Shake, Avid Symphony, Media Composer, Xpress, and XpressDV, Discreet Combustion, and eyeon Digital Fusion and DFX.

Mac plugins include support for Adobe PhotoShop, After Effects, and Premiere, Apple Final Cut Pro and Shake (OS X only), Avid Media Composer, Xpress, and Xpress DV, and Discreet Combustion.

Photoshop-only plugins for both PC and MAC are also available.

Render node-only plugins for both PC and MAC are also available.

SGI plugins are available for Discreet Logic Flint, Flame, Inferno, Fire, and Smoke, as well as Apple Shake. SGI plugins may be delivered electronically.

A Linux plugin for Shake 3.5 is also available.

Demos of the plugins are available. The demos are full featured, but superimpose a watermark on the rendered output. This way, you can test the plugins' functionality on your equipment with your footage. Demo filesizes vary from about 3 to about 12 megabytes.
